“As I’ve gotten older, and developed an underactive thyroid, it’s been harder for me to get motivated and my weight just starting to accumulate over the past few years. This winter, after looking at a couple pictures of myself over the holidays, and not being able to fit into the majority of my clothes, I said to myself, “this is ridiculous, I really need to do something,” but I wasn’t quite sure what it was I needed or actually wanted to do. I have never been into aerobics or weight lifting, and I’ve heard about Zumba & spinning classes, but wasn’t sure what was involved in those activities.
I had an opportunity to take a tour of the RP Fitness facility and was very impressed of what I saw. The facility was very clean and has everything & anything you need to accomplish your goal to getting into or staying in shape! Everyone was very friendly & the owner, Matt Probst did an excellent job of sharing his knowledge with me and making me understand the importance of knowing what I want to accomplish and how to establish that goal.
After going over my consultation and finding out exactly what was best for my goals, wants and needs, I had selected the one on one personal strength training. They made it clear up front that this work out won’t per say “make me lose weight” but it will help me strengthen my body & muscles and gain more stamina. I have to say, I went in very skeptical and after the first week, I was not convinced whatsoever that this was the program for me, nor would it work. After talking to some of the coaches and my personal trainer, Sue Kunce, they really made me realize what I was going there for and what my mind set should be. Well, I must say, that my perception of something has never been more wrong, and I absolutely LOVE going to my strength trainings twice a week at RP Fitness! It’s something where I say each time, “I am so glad I went, but I’m even more glad it’s over!” It’s something that you have to actually experience to understand.
With that being said, I have so much more motivation to not only go to my scheduled training sessions, but it’s causing me to eat better, and even walk my dogs throughout the week, which is what I thought about doing in the past, but now actually do. The best news I have to share about RP Fitness and the support I get from everyone there is that I’ve actually LOST 10 pounds in 6 weeks. Although, they told me at the beginning that you don’t really start to notice a difference until close to 12 weeks, I can honestly say, that I noticed my thigh muscles this week, which I haven’t seen in over a year, and I can’t tell you how happy that makes me.
Thanks to Matt, Sue and the staff at RP Fitness I am on my way to reaching my goal to becoming a healthier & over all better person!!!
